Appealing to 21st Century Learners

1:45-2:45
SESSION: 28 Appealing to 21st Century Learners
Mike Whalen, Ignite! Learning/Logical Choice Technologies
Spanish 3-4 Wednesday 1:45-2:45 Capacity: 88
This session offers strategies on how to use the Ignite! Learning multimedia curriculum with Promethean’s ActivExpression learner response systems to engage learners, make connections, and build inclusion. As technology has evolved in the 21st century, so have students. As educators, we must also evolve the way we present information, assess learning, and track progress. Teachers must facilitate discussion and collaboration and build frequent and varied assessment into their classrooms to ensure they reach these digital natives. Twenty-first century students are immersed in social and interactive technology and are used to instant access to information. By merging interactive technology and engaging content, educators can tap the norms of these millennials.
